Being an archipelago composed of islands, the Philippines is an ideal implementation site for telemedicine. Telemedicine aims to connect providers to each other using affordable and appropriate technologies. By creating a network of health professionals, the NThC has facilitated more than a thousand tele-referrals between Doctors-to-the-barrios and PGH using mobile phones and internet technologies.
